Principal David Cazier from Swift Creek High School, the alternative school for Lincoln County School District #2, stepped into the SVI Radio studio on Monday, May 11 to discuss funding impacts to alternative schools due to the recalibration bill passed in the 2026 Wyoming State Legislative Session.

SVI is also contacting local lawmakers to get their perspective on school funding and recalibration. Those interview dates will be announced as they are finalized.

Lynette Johnson, Race Director for the Star Valley Half Marathon, stepped into the SVI Radio studio during First Bank of Wyoming Sports Friday to promote this year's half marathon. Registration is open now at StarValleyHalfMarathon.com. Proceeds from this year's race will be donated to a scholarship fund benefiting the children of Cassie Clinger.

Director Angi Bruce with the Wyoming Game & Fish Department called into the Weekday Wake-Up on SVI Radio for her monthly report. Director Bruce discussed the decision by the U.S. Forest Service to continue working with G&F on Elk Feed Grounds, drought impacts on fish and the Migratory Big Game Initiative. 

Chad Packard and Star Valley United Church's Reverend Steve Bibb stepped into the SVI Radio Studio on Thursday, May 7 for the 75th annual National Day of Prayer. Rev. Bibb shared two prayers over the air. 

Julie Nelson stopped in to the WAVE to tell us all about her new invention, "The Cereal Saver", and the upcoming launch party this Saturday, May 9 from 4-6pm at the Oregon California Trail Center. Tune in to get  the scoop on this new invention. 

Travis Osmond with the Lincoln County Weed & Pest stepped into the SVI Radio studio on Wednesday, May 6 to discuss the impacts the early spring has had on local vegetation and what noxious weed property owners should be on the lookout for this time of year.
