Julie Nelson stopped in to the WAVE to tell us all about her new invention, "The Cereal Saver", and the upcoming launch party this Saturday, May 9 from 4-6pm at the Oregon California Trail Center. Tune in to get  the scoop on this new invention. 

Travis Osmond with the Lincoln County Weed & Pest stepped into the SVI Radio studio on Wednesday, May 6 to discuss the impacts the early spring has had on local vegetation and what noxious weed property owners should be on the lookout for this time of year. 

Mayor Eric Green with the Town of Alpine called into the Weekday Wake-Up on Wednesday, May 6 for his monthly report. Mayor Green discussed the hiring of a Town Administrator, discussions regarding the sale of fireworks within the town and planned celebrations for America 250. 

Mr. Adam Guild from Star Valley High School spoke with SVI Media's Dan Dockstader to recap the State Art Symposium. See the 2-page feature in the May 6, 2026 edition of the Star Valley Independent. The Art Showcase is scheduled for Wednesday, May 6 from 5:00-7:30 p.m. in the Star Valley High School Auxilliary Gym. 

After the interview, Mr. Guild also acknowledged that Emery Kennington was in the Top 25 from the symposium. 

Lisa spoke with Richard Spencer today on the "Morning Chit Chat" about his run for Bear Lake County Clerk.

Larry Vila stopped in to the morning chit chat today to share his vision and concerns for Bear Lake Valley. Larry is running for County Commissioner in District 1. 

Dr. Alex Oliver, Headmaster for Wyoming Classical Academy-Alpine, stepped into the SVI Radio studio on Tuesday, May 5 to discuss the building, curriculum and enrolment for the charter school as they prepare for their inaugural year this upcoming fall. 

 

Violet Sanderson, Administrator for the Town of Afton, called into the Weekday Wake-Up on Tuesday, May 5 for her monthly report. Sanderson discussed upcoming summer events as part of America 250 along with ongoing and upcoming spring and summer projects. 

Amy Bishop, Bear Lake County Clerk, stopped by the WAVE this morning to talk about the voting process. She will be on the primary election ballot on May 19, running to retain her position as Bear Lake County Clerk. 

Tanner Belknap with Star Valley Trout Unlimited spoke with SVI Media's Dan Dockstader during Saturday's fundraiser held in Alpine. Belknap discussed how the funds raised will be used for specific projects along the Salt River in Star Valley.
