SVI Radio Interview: Sen. Laura Pearson Legislative Report

Senator Laura Pearson (R-Kemmerer) called into the Weekday Wake-Up on Monday, December 1 to provide a legislative update. Senator Pearson focused on two pieces of legislation that have been discussed in the Senate Agriculture, State and Public Lands & Water Resources committee over the summer and fall, including a bill relating to Geoengineering and another focused on the transfer or sell of hunting tags from Wyoming landowners.

Chloe Valentine, the new Southwest Wyoming Regional Director with the Wyoming Business Council, called into the Weekday Wake-Up on Wednesday, November 26 to discuss her new role and the resources available to local businesses. 

SVI Radio Interview: LCSD#2 Superintendent Matt Erickson

Superintendent Matt Erickson stepped into the SVI Radio studio on Tuesday, November 25 for his monthly report from Lincoln County School District #2. Erickson discussed the district staying with the 4/5 hybrid calendar, completion of the new crosswalk on Highway 89 near Etna Elementary and also a report on potential legislation that would impact the funding model for school districts across the state.

Blue Sullivan and Julie Nelson with the Bear Lake County Chamber of Commerce hopped onto the Wave studio to promote the Shop Local Community Driven Experience. 

SVI Radio Interview: Lincoln County Commissioner Mel Shumway

Commissioner Mel Shumway stepped into the SVI Radio studio for the monthly report from the Lincoln County Commission. Shumway touched on the potential for the commissioners to begin streaming county commission meetings, the withdrawal of the Lincoln Star Improvement Service District, impact funding and a sewer modular plant in southern Lincoln County that would potentially help with a septic dumping needs in the county. 

SVI Radio Interview: Handel's The Messiah Sing Along

Margaret Tueller, RaDawn Ruud, Stephanie Henderson and James & Daphne Aribzu all stepped into the SVI Radio studio to promote the upcoming performance of The Messiah. The community sing-along includes a live nativity from 6:00-6:45 with The Messiah beginning at 7:00. The event takes place at Star Valley High School and acts as a fundraiser for the Alpine Food Bank, Thayne Food Bank and Afton Food Pantry. 

Sports Friday Interview: Adam Calkins, Kemmerer Hockey League

Adam Calkins called into First Bank of Wyoming Sports Friday to discuss a youth hockey league that is starting this winter in Kemmerer. 

Sports Friday Interview: Kyan Watson, Dylan Hirschi & Coach Merritt, SVHS Football

Star Valley High School Seniors Kyan Watson and Dylan Hirschi, along with Assistant Coach/Defensive Coordinator Kelly Merritt, all stepped into the SVI Radio studio for First Bank of Wyoming Sports Friday to reflect on this year's season of Braves' football. 

The Wave Radio Interview: F. Ross Peterson - "Christmas In Montpelier"

F. Ross Peterson, a former Bear Lake Resident and historian, called into the Morning Chit Chat with Lisa Hillier to promote his book and one man play coming to Montpelier on December 15.

Peterson's book titled "Christmas in Montpelier" is a collection of true Christmas stories from his childhood in Montpelier. It has been adapted by the USU theater department into a one man play, and will be presented at the Oregon Trail Center on December 15 at 6:00pm and again at 8:00pm. Meet the author from 4:30-5:30 and again right before the second showing.

Tickets are $9 for adults and $7 for children and proceeds benefit the Bear Lake Arts council. 

SVI Radio Interview: U.S. Representative Harriet Hageman

Congresswoman Harriet Hageman (R-WY) called into the Weekday Wake-Up on Thursday, November 20 for her monthly report from Washington D.C.

Rep. Hageman discussed H.J. Res. 130 with overturn the Biden-Era Buffalo RMPA, healthcare and insurance, and the Epstein files.
