SVI Radio: Kentucky Derby Giveaway Show

SVI Radio's Weekday Wake-Up on Friday, April 17 was dedicated to the Star Valley and Lincoln County Search & Rescue units and VIP Kentucky Derby Experience raffle hosted by The Fishing Dog Foundation. The show included guest interviews from Sheriff Shane Johnson, Star Valley Search & Rescue Commander Matt McMurdo, Lincoln County Search & Rescue volunteers Matt Peavler and Ty Sellers, Dan Dockstader, and McKay Erickson. The winner of the drawing was held at the end of the show.

Congresswoman Harriet Hageman (R-WY) called into the Weekday Wake-Up on Thursday, April 16 for her monthly report from Washington D.C. Congresswoman Hageman touched on an upcoming Veterans Congress in Lincoln County event, scheduled for May 6 in Kemmerer, along with her thoughts on the ongoing war in Iran and the ongoing partial government shutdown.

Baldwin discussed the selection of Brigadier General Shane Reeves as the 29th President of the University, the athletic jersey patch deal with Tallgrass and more.

Ron Anderson and Scott Shumway both stepped into the SVI Radio studio on Wednesday, April 15 to promote The Wall That Heals, a traveling replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial that is coming to Afton July 9-12. Anderson chairs the Memory Committee while Shumway chairs the Education Committee.

Arel Hunt joined Lisa in studio along with Stephanie Neuman over the phone to talk about the importance of mental health for our first responders. Mental Health Symposium being sponsored by the Bear lake County Sheriffs office and Bear Lake Memorial Healthcare. Thursday, April 23 8-4 and repeating on Friday, April 24 8-4. For all first responders including, EMS, Fire, Police, Dispatch, Search and Rescue as well as all hospital employees. Free admission. Spouses also invited and encouraged to attend.

Sheriff Johnson discussed the Search & Rescue fundraiser and Kentucky Derby VIP raffle, recognized local dispatchers as part of National Dispatch Week, and encouraged residents to sign up for CodeRED emergency alert notifications at LincolnCountyWY.gov. 

Lisa discussed proposed levy for Bear Lake County Fire district with District Fire Chief Mark Parker. The levy proposal will be up for vote in the primary election on May 19.

Randy Thompson and Ben Olivas stepped into the SVI Radio studio on Monday, April 13 to answer questions regarding artificial intelligence, or AI. The Q&A occurred for the day's Text-In Topic on the Weekday Wake-Up. Each text-in topic segment from the show can be heard here, including each question and answer during the show.

Thompson and Olivas are offering a free AI presentation at the Afton Civic Center on Tuesday, April 21 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. The event, titled "the Knowledge Revolution: How AI is Changing Both Business and Life" is open to anyone looking to leverage AI for more effective business operations.
