Town of Afton Administrator Violet Sanderson called into the Weekday Wake-Up on Thursday, February 5 for her monthly report from the Town. Sanderson explained the details regarding a developers proposal for a major subdivision and provided an update on the applications to fill a vacancy on the council.

Craig Coles, Director of Gas Operations with Lower Valley Energy, stepped into the studio to discuss the completion of a natural gas pipeline from Montpelier to Afton that is now serving the residents of Afton. 

Representative Veile and Lisa visited on the phone on Wednesday in a weekly legislative update. Conformity Bill passed the house and is now headed to the Senate floor. Transportation issues including Utah's proposed refinery tax that will affect Idaho. Also, short term rentals asking for uniformity in how municipalities govern those properties. 

Representative Josh Wheeler took time on Tuesday morning to call in to the WAVE and talk about budget cuts and how they will affect rural hospitals. Conformity Bill going to the house. Also talked a bit about Short term rentals, "Shot Clock" restrictions being placed on building and permits.

Heber Dunford with the National Oregon California Trail Center and Tristi Pinkston from the Bear Lake Arts Council visited with Lisa this morning about this weekend's Craft Fair and Saddle String Concert at the Trail Center. 

Representative McKay Erickson (R-Afton) stepped into the SVI Radio studio to give his thoughts on the upcoming legislative session.

Mayor Eric Green with the Town of Alpine called into the Weekday Wake-Up on Wednesday, February 4 for his monthly report. Mayor Green recapped the recent Winter Jubilee event, the process to issue a new liquor license and a report on the town working to resolve a sewer issue.

Senator Dan Dockstader (R-Afton) shared his thoughts on the upcoming Legislative Budget Session, which begins on Monday, February 9. 

Director Angi Bruce with the Wyoming Game & Fish Department called into the Weekday Wake-Up on Tuesday, February 3 for her monthly report. Director Bruce discussed the recent retirement of local biologist Gary Fralick, a poaching incident in southwest Wyoming and the discontinuation of the Sage-Grouse Working Groups.
